In fact, the only country really importing Iranian cars now is Iraq.
According to the Pana news agency, Iran exported 8,816 cars in the first seven months of the current Persian year.
That was just 0.9 percent of the 934,000 cars produced in that time period.
More importantly, it was far less than half the 20,990 cars exported in the same time period last year.
Of the 8,816 cars exported, 8,625 went to Iraq and 191 to the rest of the world, indicating there is no market beyond Iraq.
Domestic sales continue strong and the output in the seven-month period was an increase of 5.4 percent from the same period last year.
