The American and Iranian national wrestling teams will grapple with one another in an exhibition next February in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The two teams have faced off against each other in each other’s country periodically for the last two decades. The last time the Iranian team appeared in the United States was in 2016 in Los Angeles for that year’s World Cup of Wrestling.
The sponsors are hoping to get a television network to broadcast the Dallas-Fort Worth event nationally.
The event will be staged February 12 starting at 6:30 p.m. local time at Globe Life Field, the home park of the Texas Rangers baseball team.
The Iran-USA matchup will be held jointly with the Oklahoma State and Iowa collegiate teams appearing on an adjoining mat.
