Mohammad Bayatian, vice chair of the Majlis Industries Committee, says the chances are high that an American carmaker will soon invest in one Iran’s free economic zones. The chances are actually nil. Bayatian may be misunderstanding the interim nuclear agreement that lifted the sanctions on non-American automakers doing business with Iran. But American auto firms are still banned from Iran.
