Most folks have almost forgotten about the Iran-US Claims Tribunal, which was established in 1981 to handle claims that arose from the 1979 revolution. It’s is still there with most cases completed, but one monstrous case involving Iranian claims of billions of dollars for arms sales still pending. The US has now appointed a new judge, Rosemary Barkett, to succeed Judge Gabrielle McDonald, who has resigned after 12 years. The tribunal has three judges appointed by the US, three by Iran and three by a neutral process.
