The US Senate didn’t pass any sanctions against Iran last week, but it just couldn’t leave town without taking at least one swipe at the Islamic Republic. On Friday, just before going home for the holidays, the Senate unanimously approved a resolution that “condemns the government of Iran for its state-sponsored persecution of its Baha’i minority and its continued violation of the International Covenant on Human Rights.” S. Res. 75 is the latest in a long series of congressional resolutions expressing fury at Iran for its treatment of the Baha’is.
