Nine men convicted of the gang rape of a woman in southern Fars province have been hanged. The daily Arman said the woman withdrew her complaint against the men, which would normally void the death penalty, but the authorities decided to go ahead with the execution anyway. It wasn’t explained on what authority they did that.
