The Mehr news agency quotes a Majlis deputy who traveled recently to Moscow with Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif as saying that, when meeting President Vladimir Putin, Zarif asked him to provide Iran with the S-300 air defense missile system whose sale was canceled by Putin’s predecessor. The Iranian military has frequently said it no longer wants the S-300 and will build a better system itself.
