The man had received a call from Iran informing him of his father’s death. He climbed out the window and onto the ledge to “find peace” at 8:30 a.m. last Wednesday.
Four hours later, the police were able to persuade him to climb off the ledge. In the meantime, he drew the curious stares of many passersby in Kuala Lumpur.
Datuk Ku Chin Wah, a police chief, said the man arrived from Iran a week earlier and is waiting for his student visa registration to go through.
