Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (photo), who represents part of Orange County, California, suggested it was “a good thing” that a number of Iranian Shiites were killed in a terrorist attack this month and speculated that it might be part of a Trump Administration strategy to confront Iran. At a congressional hearing, Rohrabacher noted the attack on the Majlis and asked a witness, “Isn’t it a good thing for us to have the United States finally backing up Sunnis who will attack Hezbollah and the Shiite threat to us? Isn’t that a good thing? And, if so, maybe Ö this is a Trump strategy of actually supporting one group against another.” The witness, however, condemned the attack and rejected supporting Islamic State attacks on anyone.
