The Islamic Republic last week condemned an attack launched by Muslim Uighur (pronounced wee-ger) rebels in China’s far west. About 100 people died. China called it a terrorist attack. Uighur rebels called it an uprising against Chinese oppression. Iran does not support the Uighurs, just as it has never supported the Chechnya Muslims in Russia. Those two countries are too important for Iran to challenge.
