Minister of Justice Mostafa Pur-Mohammadi says that most child abuse originates with people pretending to be human rights advocates.
Speaking to the first Congress of Religious Leaders Against Violence to Children, Pur-Mohammadi said, “The thing that we have to pay attention to is a pivotal point for legal and emotional support for children. This is something that has been widely mentioned throughout the world.”
He said, “One of the things that we have to pay much attention to is society’s lack of knowledge regarding children’s rights. In fact, families have to be taught children’s rights.”
He then stated, “The statistics on the number of orphans in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan are the biggest present-day catastrophe—something that has been brought about by so-called human rights advocates.”
“These pretenders are those who wage wars and commit terror and genocide. On the one hand, they beat the drum for children’s rights while on the other hand they violate those rights. There is child trafficking organized by developed countries these days,” he asserted.
He added, “Today there is advanced research conducted on human beings as well as weakened nuclear weapons tested on children in developing countries, which I have to say is worrisome.”
He did not name the governments he said were engaged in child trafficking or in testing nuclear weapons on children.
