Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian described the large population of Iranian expatriates residing in the United States as a major asset for the Islamic Republic, in his final meeting of his four-day visit to New York and the United Nations.
Abdollahian met September 25 with the staff of the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the US.
He said President Raisi is determined to honor Iranians around the world, resolve their problems and facilitate their relations with their homeland.
The foreign minister said he had been asked by Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossain Mohseni-Ejai before the UN trip to convey to Iranians residing in the US that there are no obstacles for their easy travel to the homeland.
According to the turgid wording of the Mehr news agency’s English service, “The foreign minister described the large Iranian community living in the US as elites and educated people, an unparalleled asset, and an opportunity that should be protected through synergy among the relevant bodies.”
