The Fars news agency is linked to the Pasdaran, and its story selections show it. Last Saturday, the Fars English language website carried 82 stories. Of the total, an astounding 65 percent were on the war in Syria. Another 8 percent were about the economy while 5 percent reported the war in Yemen, 5 percent were anti-American screeds and 17 percent covered all other topics combined. Although the Majlis elections were only 13 days away, Fars carried not a single story on the elections that day.
