An Indonesian trade delegation to Iran has been cut in half after the US embassy in Indonesia contacted the 15 businessmen and told them they could not expect to do any business with the United States if they made any deals in Iran. According to Indonesia’s ambassador to Iran, seven dropped out of the group right away. The Iranian media presented this as an effort to damage Iran-Indonesia relations rather than as the US embassy carrying out its responsibility to tell businesses the impact of US sanctions laws.
