Her ambition was to conquer K-2, a mountain that has killed one-quarter of all those who have tried to reach its peak. She was in Pakistan to practice by climbing Gasherbrum II, the 13th highest peak in the world. She got the job done and was descending happily. She spoke with a member of her team and continued on down. The team member watched her and then saw her slip and fall off the mountain.
