Mohammad Khorsand, the Friday prayer leader in the city of Kazeroun in Fars province, was attacked and killed while returning home from Ramadan services May 29. The accused killer, Hamid-Reza Derakhshandeh, was soon caught and tried. He was hanged in public at the spot of the offense last month.
