Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif has asserted that Canada is now isolated in the international community because of its radical policies. He made the comment Sunday when he and President Rohani met in New York with a group of Iranian expatriates living in Canada and the United States. Canada used to operate to the left of US administrations, but under Prime Minister Stephen Harper has moved to the right. It has said it is not removing its sanctions on Iran and has no intention of reopening its embassy in Tehran. Zarif spoke of his efforts to provide consular services fro Iranians in North America and regretted that the Harper government has blocked the provision of such services ever since expelling the Iranian embassy staff a few years ago.
