The Australian Labor Party government was walloped in Saturday’s election, doing worse than ever at the polls since 1934. The new conservative Coalition government will now take office with plans to be even harder on illegal immigrants than Labor was. Prime Minister-elect Tony Abbott announced plans to fly to Indonesia to discuss his ideas for stopping boats from sailing from Indonesia to Australia with illegal immigrants. The unofficial results for the 150-seat House of Representatives show the Coalition with 88 seats, Labor with 57 and other parties with five seats.
