Sen. Ted Cruz (photo), running for the GOP presidential nomination, suggested Friday, perhaps tongue in cheek, that it might be good to assassinate Supreme Leader Ali Khamenehi. Speaking Friday, Cruz gave his usual denunciation of the nuclear deal with Iran, vowing to tear up the agreement on his first day as president. Then he added, “And if the ayatollah doesn’t understand that, we may have to help introduce him to the 72 virgins.” He grinned as the audience cheered its approval. In the same speech, Cruz called President Obama “the world’s most powerful communist.” The Islamic Republic has simply ignored Cruz’s rhetoric—as has Obama.
