Vida Ghaffari has become the first Iranian-American to be inducted in the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame
On May 19, Ghaffari, an actress in Hollywood, along with many celebrities and luminaries in the martial arts world were inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame at a gala in Los Angeles. Ghaffari was bestowed with the Trailblazer Award. She is the first person of Iranian descent to be inducted.
This Hall of Fame was founded by Grandmaster Jim Thomas, a 10th degree grand master, one of only 20 worldwide.
Ghaffari has been active as an actress and voiceover artist. She just wrapped a supporting role in “Nation’s Fire,” which will be distributed by Universal Studios. Ghaffari also has a recurring role in the three-time Peabody award nominated “Suspense Show” on XM satellite radio.
Ghaffari is the daughter of the late Abolghassem Ghaffari, who won a presidential award for his work with NASA on the Apollo program that sent men to the moon. The elder Ghaffari died in 2015 at the age of 106.
