You can’t shut up Motahari, but regime does shut him down

MOTAHARI. . . hard to shut up
MOTAHARI. . . hard to shut up

The website of conservative Majlis Deputy Ali Motahari has been filtered by the Judiciary, according to the Fars news agency.
The report said no official explanation has been provided for the decision to block Motahari’s website, but it is presumably part of attempts by hardliners to silence the outspoken Motahari, who has criticized the house arrest of opposition figures Mir-Hossain Musavi, Musavi’s wife, Zahra Rahnavard, and reformist cleric Mehdi Karrubi.
In January, lawmakers disrupted a Majlis speech by Motahari during which he lambasted the house arrests and said they violate Iran’s constitution.
Motahari is officially a conservative, but his views are rather eclectic and not easily categorized.
Motahari’s personal website has been temporarily blocked in the past.
