The international Court of Arbitration for Sport has just elected a female Iranian lawyer, Parand Azizi (photo), to be a member of the quasi-judicial body that settles disputes related to athletes and tournaments. Azizi became the 401st member of the court last week. She was nominated by Iran’s National Olympic Committee. Azizi holds a doctorate in sports law’from Malaysia.
