An aircraft carrying pilgrims to the hajj in Saudi Arabia ran off the runway at the Kerman airport Monday, injuring seven people enough to be hospitalized. The state news agency quoted Mohsen Salehi, director of the state Crisis Management Office, as saying the plane did not belong to Iran, as if to say that no Iranian had any responsibility. The Fars news agency, however, said the plane was owned by Mahan Air, a major Iranian airline. It said the plane skidded off the runway when one of its tires burst.
