President Rohani flew to the UN in his A340 presidential aircraft whose ownership was changed just days earlier to avoid US sanctions. Originally the plane (and no other) was owned by Meraj Air, which was then sanctioned by the United States. Iran next created Dena Airways to own the presidential jet, and no other plane. The US sanctioned Dena last May. The plane is now owned by an “Iranian government airline,” whose name has not been revealed publicly.
