He said these efforts are aimed at saving the Israeli regime as well as enriching the West at the expense of the Third World.
The Islamic Republic has often charged that the United States invaded Iraq and Afghanistan for the purpose of plunder. But on other occasions, it asserts that the United States has been bled dry by those invasions, which it says have soaked up $3 trillion and ruined the American economy. There has never been an effort to explain how both these allegations can be true.
Western countries have repeatedly waged wars to dominate energy resources, said Ahmadi-nejad Tuesday. He said arrogant and hegemonic powers changed their slogans and masks after they were driven out but they have made no change in their objectives and plans.
Arrogant powers set up international organizations and preside over them to achieve their aims which are based on plundering the assets of regional nations, he said.
In Iraq, not even the staunchest anti-American politicians any longer claim the Americans plundered Iraqi oil. And when the Iraqis recently awarded more than a dozen contracts for oilfield development, only a single one went to an American firm.
Iranian officials have often accused Washington of plundering Afghanistan as well, but they have not explained what the Americans have plundered from that impoverished country.
Ahmadi-nejad said the nations of the world are now awakened while the arrogant powers seek to turn this awakening in their own interests to dominate countries.
Ahmadi-nejad cautioned that these powers are using the leaders of regional countries as a tool to reach their goals. He said the arrogant powers and looters intend to play a new game under a new guise.
