In an interview with Izvestia, Rogozin said NATO has a far-reaching goal of replacing governments that do not agree with it. He said NATO will start with Iran. “The noose around Iran is tightening,” he said. “Military planning against Iran is underway. And we are certainly concerned about an escalation of a large-scale war in this region.” He didn’t say where he got his information from or how he expected NATO could make such a decision when its members include Germany and Turkey, both of which are publicly opposed to any military action in Iran.
