Villager has first child at 59

finally have become parents after 40 years of trying.

The mother, Nazarian Golchehreh, was 59 years old when she gave birth.  She was 19 years old when she married Rajab-Ali, who was then 31 and is now 71 years old.

When the couple had no children they began consulting local fertility “experts,” who prescribed herbal medicines and special diets over the years, with no success.  They then looked beyond their mountainous village near Shahr-e Kord.  They began traveling to Tehran, Shiraz, Ahvaz, Esfahan and others cities looking for more expert assistance.

Then a neighboring village woman who was infertile gave birth and credited her doctor, Shahnaz Fesharaki, with the change.  The Golchehrehs contacted Dr. Fesharaki.

Mrs. Golchehreh has now given birth to a son, Mohammad-Hossain, who weighed in at 3,300 grams (7 lbs, 4 oz).

Her motherhood at age 59 is not a world record.  Two Indian women believed to be about 70 gave birth in 2008.

There was no word on what plans the new father had for playing soccer with his son.
