PressTV, the English language outlet of Iranian state broadcasting, seems to be making a cause of Iranians imprisoned in the United States. Last week, it added another US victim, that of an Iranian physicist who it said was being beaten in an American jail. It cited the case of Amir-Houshang Sanjari, who was divorced a decade ago in Indiana and has been fighting child support ever since. Two years ago, he was jailed in the Elkhart, Indiana, city jail for non-payment. Sanjari has flooded the courts with legal filings charging that the judges in his case, up to and including the Indiana Supreme Court, are criminally corrupt. But PressTV focused on the charge aired by his family that he was recently hospitalized after being beaten unconscious the jail.
