First Vice President Mo-hammad-Reza Rahimi aired the charge Monday, warning against plots hatched by the US and its allies to massacre Muslims. Rahimi did not give any specifics of time or place.
“Global arrogance seeks to hatch plots against Muslim nations with the purpose of reducing their population. Massacre of Muslims is among its objectives,” Rahimi said in a meeting with visiting Iraqi Minister of State for Tourism and Archeology Liwa al-Sumaysim.
“Global arrogance” is the preferred term in the Islamic Republic for the West in general and the United States in particular. It has largely replaced the term “Great Satan” that was long popular after the revolution.
Rahimi said most of the world’s wars are waged against Muslims across the world and stressed the importance of reinforcing unity and solidarity among Muslims.
