The head of the Supreme Leader’s office says everything going on in Syria and Egypt today is masterminded by the United States and Israel for their own nefarious ends.
Hojatoleslam Mohammad Mohammadi-Golpayegani, the Supreme Leader’s chief of staff, lashed out at the US and Israel for hatching plots against the Muslim people and governments.
“The crimes committed in such Muslim countries as Egypt and Syria today are masterminded by the US and the Zionist regime,” Hojatoleslam Golpayegani said.
Golpayegani is considered a major figure in the regime because of his intimacy with Khamenehi, but he is only rarely seen in public and speaks even less often.
He said US and Israeli leaders fuel tensions in Egypt and Syria and do not let the people and governments of those countries decide their own fates.
Last week, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenehi lashed out at the western countries, especially the US, for creating problems for the countries of the region,
“The people in those [Muslim] countries should decide their own destiny and prevent any foreign intervention,” Khamenehi said.
