Safa Aaeli, the 30-year-old uncle of Mahsa Amini, the woman whose death in 2022 set off street protests across Iran, has been sentenced to five years in prison for “participating in protests against internal security, disseminating anti-government propaganda and insulting the Supreme Leader.”
