The Syrian rebel group Faylaq ash-Sham (Levant Legion) claims it has captured two Iranian Pasdaran fighting in Syria and is holding them prisoner, the Arab news website Araby21 reported Monday.
The website carried a photo it said showed the two captives. It provided no names.
No other news outlets have been seen to report the capture of any Iranians.
Faylaq ash-Sham is a medium sized fighting group in Syria of about 4,000 soldiers rebelling against the government of President Bashar al-Assad. It is described as a moderate Islamist group that operates in the middle of the country around Homs and Hama.
It is not allied with the Islamic State or Al-Qaeda, and it is supported by the United States.
More than 50 Iranians are known to have been killed fighting in Syria in recent months, but there have been no reports of any captives until now.
