Ahmad Shaheed (photo at left), the UN investigator on human rights in Iran, has again appealed to the Islamic Republic to allow him into Iran to conduct interviews. In fact, he has sent two letters making that request. But he has been rejected. In fact, Mohammad-Javad Larijani (photo at right), the secretary of Iran’s High Council on Human Rights, made a point of publicly announcing the rejection and of calling Shaheed a mere tool of the West.
