Turn left at Africa

February 19, 2016

In an interesting re-write of geography, Brig. Gen. Abbas Sadahi, a senior officer assigned to the Joint Staff, last week said Iran’s armed forces have pushed the enemies of the Islamic Republic to the shores of the Mediterranean, “where they will ultimately drown.”  Sadahi said the enemies used to attack Iran’s borders after the revolution, but now have been driven back to Latakia, which is actually the center of the Syrian Alawite minority that Iran is trying to protect.  At the time of the revolution, US troops were only based in two of Iran’s neighboring states, Turkey and Bahrain.  Now they are based in five: Turkey, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan.
