Turkey bought two liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes at added expense on the spot market last week because it didn’t have enough natural gas as the weather suddenly turned very cold in Turkey. Turkey normally gets most of its gas by pipe from Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan supplemented by some LNG shipments from Qatar, Algeria and Nigeria.
