A stork in Mahabad in West Azerbaijan prov-ince has built a nest high atop a utility pole with the help of a local resident who tossed sticks up to the bird.
A video of the bird busily at work building the nest has become popular on social media in Iran.
A local news organization in the province said the bird’s original nest was destroyed. Local residents then built a nest for the bird—but he rejected that human concoction and started from scratch on top of the utility pole.
A man who is not seen in the video tosses a stick up to the bird every dozen seconds or so. The man’s toss is accurate and the bird unfailingly catches the stick in his beak and then sticks it firmly into the nest, a process that continues for a few minutes in the video.
