“These findings have no basis and if such things are true, I will resign from my post,” Esmail Ahmadi-Moqaddam said.
According to ILNA, the survey was conducted by a university professor in Tehran. The report didn’t state the number of students surveyed or their age range, but the study was enough to provoke the police chief’s ire.
“The report that 80 percent of males and female have relations go against the moral fabric of our society,” Moqaddam.
Moqaddam condemned the media for reporting what he called bogus results and offered to debate anyone who believed the findings to be true.
“Those who want to report these statistics want to rattle the public’s thoughts,” he said.
