The Majlis has approved a pay increase of “up to” 10 percent for all government employees. That isn’t very impressive, given that inflation has topped 40 percent for the past year. What’s more, that’s just a cap. The Rohani Administration is free to give them a smaller pay raise, which it is expected to do, given the budget crunch.
