US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last month told a reporter he would be glad to go to Iran and “speak directly to the Iranian people.” Ali Rabii, the government’s spokesman, then told reporters Iran would have Pompeo interviewed by Marziyeh Hashemi (photo), the American-born Muslim convert who has worked for years for PressTV, the regime’s English language TV outlet. But the head of PressTV, Peyman Jebeli, was furious and said PressTV was not interested in interviewing Pompeo.
