As we reported last week, producer Ali Sartipi said he had approached Jolie’s manager and agent and the star showed interest. But Sartipi seems to have forgotten to check first with the director he works for, Masud Dehnamaki (photo at left). You may remember Dehna-maki. He was once a leader of the Ansar-e Hezbollah, gangs of street toughs who like to beat up critics of the regime. He tired of that and decided to go into filmmaking. He has been extremely successful, producing a series of top grossing films that have also won critical acclaim. “I announced my disapproval to Sartipi,” Dehnamaki told the Fars news agency. He didn’t say why he disapproved of Jolie appearing in his next film.
