Hossain Mir-Afzali, the former head of the High Council of Marine Industries, says the Russians have ignored an Iranian order for three 63,000-ton ships to ply the waters of the Caspian. He said it appears the Russians don’t want to see Iran become a bigger maritime power in the Caspian. Mir-Afzali said Iran has no ships bigger than 6,000 tons in the Caspian.
