A Norwegian jet was stranded in Shiraz for 10 weeks but has now been able to leave. It had engine trouble while flying over Iran and made a landing at the nearest airport. But it needed an American-made part. At the time, the US government was closed down by President Trump, so Boeing could not get a license to export the part. But even after the US government re-opened, the delay dragged on. It hasn’t been made clear why.
