Iraq’s Sunni deputy prime minister, Saleh Al-Mutlaq (photo), has appealed to the United States to provide more arms and aid to Iraq’s army to keep the Iranians at bay. Mutlaq said that if the Americans are concerned about Iran’s role in Iraq, as they say they are, then they “should come and help the Iraqis in order to limit that interference.”
