Tehran, says he doesn’t believe Supreme Leader Ali Larijani thinks much of President Ahmadinejad, although finding him useful as an attack dog. Writing in Newsweek a few weeks ago, Bahari said a video is going the rounds showing Khamenehi and the president at a Basij event where one young Basiji told Ahmadi-nejad that being president means nothing if he doesn’t obey Khamenehi. Bahari writes, “As the students chant ‘Death to those who are against the Supreme Leader,’ Khamenehi looks on placidly, nodding with evident approval and taking notes.”
