A total of 1,111,818 recent high school graduates took the konkur or college entrance exam early in July. The Education Ministry announced two years ago that it was ending the exams, but it has not halted them. Instead, the government is now mulling changes in the test system. An 81-year-old man was the oldest test-taker this year, and a 13-year-old girl was the youngest.
