Tehran’s City Council has voted to forbid advertising for global brands associated with Israel and banned such products from sale in city-owned shops. As examples of forbidden products, it named Coca-Cola, which was founded in Atlanta and remains based there, and Nestle, which has always been a Swiss firm. The Coca-Cola bottler in Iran gets his syrup from the Coca-Cola franchise in Ireland.
