Iran’s state TV reports that five people were stabbed to death in a house in Gilan province, including four members of the same family.
The October 28 report quoted deputy prosecutor Ali-Asghar Heidarnejad as saying the victims were a father, mother, grandfather and daughter, as well as a friend of the daughter.
Heidarnejad says a suspect has been arrested, but police were continuing their investigation into other potential killers. There was no immediate word on possible motive.
Iran has seen a rash of mass killings. Last March, a man shot seven members of his wife’s family dead in Dezful. In January 2017, a man gunned down five people in central Iran. A month earlier, a man killed 10 relatives in a remote southern rural area.
