Government spokesman Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht (photo) said President Rohani is personally involved in the planning on how to retrieve the $2 billion in Iranian assets seized by the United States in recent years to pay American “victims of terrorism.” The US Supreme Court approved the confiscation last year, so it isn’t clear what route remains open to Iran. Nor did Nobakht give any hint as to what options were being looked out.
