The British-based Zero Hedge website says it has uncovered the base from which Britain’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), the UK version of the US National Security Agency, spies on communications in Iran and other countries in the Middle East. It says the spy site is in Seeb, on the northern coast of Oman, where it can tap into undersea cables that pass through the Strait of Hormuz. It says Seeb is one of three GCHQ sites in Oman. Oman, which maintains good relations with Iran, has not responded to the allegation that it has been cooperating with British intelligence for decades.
