Farhad Parvaresh (photo), the head of Iran Air, let drop Sunday that the company has to pay a markup of about 30 percent to get parts under the table. But he said getting parts wasn’t a problem. The problem the last two years has been securing fuel since most European airports won’t sell to the company, he said. The solution, he revealed, is that planes leaving Tehran for Europe are now pumped full to the gills with fuel so they can make the roundtrip without refueling.
